Baird B. Brown
Baird B. Brown has over 34 years of experience in the areas of family wealth preservation focusing his practice on tax, estate planning and administration, long term care and special needs planning. Baird graduated from the University of Colorado in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and received his law degree from Willamette University in 1975. Baird is a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel (ACTEC); a member and former chairman of the Colorado Bar Association Trust and Estate Section; the current Chair of the Board of Directors of Continuing Legal Education of Colorado, Inc.; a Fellow, founding and active member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners (NAELA CAP) ,past Board member and member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA); a member of the Special Needs Alliance; and is recognized by the National Elder Law Foundation as a Certified Elder Law Attorney.

Baird is the co-author of "Mental Capacity, Legal and Medical Aspects of Assessment and Treatment", which is published by West Publishing. Baird also is a guest speaker at various events periodically throughout the United States.

Clara Brown Shaffer
Clara joined our firm in December of 2007. Clara graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association, the Estate Planning (Orange Book) Forms Committee, Statutory Revisions Committee, and the Mesa County Bar Association. Clara is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Brown is the author of the Estate Planning chapter in the Senior Law Handbook published by CLE/Colorado Bar Association. Ms. Brown's practice focuses primarily on estate planning, estate administration, special needs planning, elder law, and long term care planning.
