Long term care planning is all about helping someone you care about deal with the emotional and financial hurdles of adjusting to a new lifestyle. For some families the issues involve locating qualified home health care services to allow the individual to stay at home. For others it may be finding a suitable daycare, outside the home, where the individual can stay during the day allowing the caregiver a break from the difficulty of full time care.
Planning may become focused on moving from an existing residential setting to a more restrictive one such as an assisted living facility or nursing home. Finding an appropriate living arrangement can be difficult and should be approached carefully and with thought.
